Streets of London calling: Tales of Adventure and Delight

From World-Class Cocktails at The Gibson to Iconic Dining at The Wolseley

A fox strolling the streets of London

As the train pulled into St Pancras station in London, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. It had been two long years since my last visit to this vibrant city, and the pandemic and limited travel options had left me feeling restless and longing for adventure.

Despite the disruptive events of the past few years, the typical gray, foggy, and rainy English weather gave me a sense of familiarity and comfort. As I hailed a cab to take me to my hotel, I struck up a conversation with the driver. He assured me that London was still as lively and welcoming as ever, despite the impact of Brexit and the pandemic.

As I settled into my hotel room, I couldn't wait to start exploring the city once again. And what better way to kick off the weekend than with a world-class cocktail at The Gibson in Old Street? The small Edwardian-style interior was the perfect setting for enjoying a drink with friends, while the live jazz and blues music added to the atmosphere.

Tourists have disappeared, English humor and self-mockery have remained intact.

Cocktail at The Gibson

The cocktails themselves were highly inventive and original, and even though I'm usually wary of tourist traps, The Gibson surpassed all my expectations. The bartender even gave us a lesson in the history of the cocktail we were enjoying, adding to the overall experience.

The best atmosphere to kick off our weekend in London.

And have diner in The Wolseley on Picadilly Street, in one of London's most iconic respected all-day café restaurant with his spectacular interior.

The entire look and feel is stylishly designed, The English Style in a contemporary jacket. The gentleman at the entrance with the bowler hat, the crockery interwoven into a nice-looking table, the interior, the acoustics of the bon vivants present, it gives you an exceptionally good feeling of pleasure. This place makes me feel I'm in London.

The kitchen is humming, beautiful classic dishes are prepared with the greatest care by the chefs and stylishly served by your personal waiter, so the customer feels recognized. Nothing is left to chance, everything is perfectly orchestrated.

As we finished our meal and said goodbye to our friends, I felt a sense of contentment and satisfaction. The city of London had once again shown me its charm and vitality, and I couldn't wait to continue exploring all that it had to offer.
